With gasoline prices trending higher, more people are looking at car conversions or researching cars that are powered by alternative fuels such as ethanol, biodiesel, natural gas, propane and hydrogen fuel cells. These alternate fuels do cost less and the vehicles using these types of fuel end up producing less carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides. There are disadvantages though such as higher initial costs due to the conversion and less convenience when it comes to refuelling due to a lack of stations offering the fuel.
